In this seminar, we interview our guests as they explain how communication and leadership have played a pivotal part in their roles as leaders in their organizations.

1. Ms. Victoria Loutsiv, Partner, Enterprise Risk Services, Deloitte

Victoria leads Deloitte’s Regulatory and Capital Markets practice in Toronto. She provides risk management, governance and regulatory compliance services to the financial industry participants. Her clients span across various sectors and include Schedule I and II banks, securities dealers, investment management firms, large pension funds and regulators. Prior to joining Deloitte’s Capital Markets group in 2000, Victoria spent four years in the institutional asset management industry. She is currently assisting a number of industry participants to respond to G20/Dodd Frank Act requirements, specifically focusing on Title VII – OTC derivatives. Victoria is a member of a number of professional industry organizations and is a frequent speaker on the subject of governance, risk management and regulation.

 2. Mr. Kelvin Tran, Senior Vice President and CFO, TD Securities

As Chief Financial Officer, Kelvin is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the global finance departments at TD Securities. He leads the teams responsible for capital management, policies, planning and management reporting, analysis and control. As a member of the TD Securities Supervisory Committee, Kelvin plays a key role on the firm’s senior leadership team. Kelvin has been with the Bank for over 12 years in progressively senior roles including Head of Enterprise Decision Support, Treasury and Balance Sheet Management and Chief Accountant for the Bank. Prior to joining TD, Kelvin worked in Deloitte’s Montreal on audit and consulting practice. Staying true to his interest in the technical field of accounting, he also lectured part-time at the McGill University Chartered Accountancy Comprehensive Business Case program. Kelvin is a member of the board of directors for the Canadian Diabetes Association and chairs its audit committee. In addition, he is President of Ascend Canada, a not-for-profit organization focused on enhancing the presence, visibility and influence of current and future Pan-Asian leaders.
