Event Assistant – Summer Student
The Chinese Professionals Association of Canada (CPAC) is a federally registered, not-for-profit organization with the objective of serving and representing the interests of immigrant professionals. CPAC serves over 29,000 members.
This is a support position that requires a significant ability to work independently. The ideal candidate is a bright problem-solver with a positive attitude and ready to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment. Some background administrative assistance, event planning, or non-profits is an asset.
The Event Assistant will report to Communication and Development Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with members of the Communication team to execute event plans
- Assist all areas of event management, including but not limited to:
- recruiting event participants
- setting up venue
- producing event collateral
- manning the registration desks
- coordinating volunteers
- liaising with exhibitors or participants
- all other tasks as required.
- Provide administrative support to the Communication and Development team
- Working some evening and weekend hours
Skills & Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Post-Secondary program in Business, Marketing or related field
- Superior computer skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and excellent attendance record
- Some background administrative assistance, event planning, or non-profits is an asset.
- Bilingual candidates preferred (English and mandarin)
- Must be out-going
ELIGIBILITY Students must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age;
- have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year; and,
- be legally entitled to work in Canada (foreign students are not eligible).

Marketing Assistant – Summer Student

The Marketing Assistant will report to Communication and Development Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with members of the Communication team to execute marketing plans
- Assist in creation and design of visuals for the organizations communications
- Write copy for websites, marketing pieces, blogs and company literature
- Assist with social media promotions
- Provide administrative support to the Communication and Development team, as required
- Working some evening and weekend hours
Skills & Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Post-Secondary program in Business, Marketing or related field
