如何选择专业？来10月25日第七届CPAC教育日活动专家为你支招
由加拿大中国专业人士协会教育基金会主办、加拿大汇丰银行主题赞助的CPAC“教育日”活动是华人社区每年举行的规模最大的教育活动。主要目的是为新移民家庭提供有关加拿大教育制度的信息和其他相关服务，帮助家长和学生在加拿大新生活中取得成功。活动举办六年以来，已为数以万计的学生及家长提供了实用的教育资讯。
第七届CPAC“教育日”活动将于2014年10月25日在Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel (600 Highway 7 East, Richmond Hill ON L4B1B2) 举行。 本届活动仍然保留前几届活动多样化方式，帮助参与者“一站式”搜罗所有教育相关资讯。活动当天既有近40家教育机构设立展位，与学生和家长面对面的交流，又有一场来自哈佛学子的主题演讲及八场不同教育相关主题的热门讲座，还有由各专上学生联合会主持的全天候Drop-in学生论坛。针对日益增长的成人教育需求，本届“教育日”还特意安排了一些成人再教育课程资讯及讲座，帮助想转行或进一步学习深造的移民朋友做出适合自己的教育选择。

How to choose your major?
Many students raised by immigrant parents tend to be strongly influenced by the value of their parents when choosing a major in university. Or, like their peers, they may be simply be overwhelmed by the numerous choices of programs and universities. This presentation will discuss factors to consider during this demanding exercise and cover topics including determining career goals, identifying personal strengths and interests as well as trends in the current labour market. Caroline Yang will share the perspective of employers and provide practical career planning suggestions for students and parents.
Caroline Yang, CHRP, CCP, has fifteen years of human resources experience working with multinational and multicultural organizations. She is an expert in cross-cultural communication and a key presenter at the International Students Orientation at University of Toronto. She co-authored the book “Danger and Opportunity: Bridging Cultural Diversity for Competitive Advantage” on cultural diversity and inclusion.
