2013 CPAC Award Ceremony successfully held on Oct 19

Organized by the Education Foundation of Chinese Professionals Association of Canada (CPAC), the presentation ceremony of 2013 Awards, Scholarships and Bursaries successfully held in conjunction with CPAC’s annual Education Day on October 19 at Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto at 4:30 pm.

Founded in 1999, the Education Foundation of Chinese Professionals Association of Canada provides Scholarships and Awards to secondary and post-secondary students who have demonstrated exceptional community leadership as well as outstanding academic achievements. The Foundation also provides bursaries to students who hold above-average grades and demonstrate financial need.

There are three categories of the awards this year, three $1,000 scholarships and one $3,000 CPAC-TD Meloche Monnex Prestigious Scholarship. Six $1000 awards for students who have completed grade 10, 11 or 12, with two awards for each grade. Three $1000 bursaries for the students enrolled in post-secondary studies and demonstrate a financial need.

“CPAC recognizes the importance of education and is committed to fostering community leadership and the concern for others in the immigrant community. And we want to reward those hard-working and deserving students of immigrant families,” remarks Richard Lim, President of the CPAC Education Foundation, “CPAC has given out 200 monetary awards in the past thirteen years, we would also like to thank all of our sponsors and donors for their generous and continued support that has allowed us to fulfill our commitment in this regard.”

As the presenting sponsor of the awards for many years, Mr. Jorge Cardelus, Relationship Manager, Affinity Market Group, TD Insurance Meloche Monnex made remarks at the ceremony, he also presented the TDIMM Prestigious Scholarship to the winner. We also thank CGA as the Diamond Sponsor for this event and their long term support to CPAC.
