2022 CPAC InnoVision Summit Spotlights the Metaverse

April 19, TORONTO – Metaverse, an once obscure but now much hyped term since its pronouncement by Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, is the subject of this year’s CPAC InnoVision summit.

Entitled Metaverse: Infinite Possibilities, InnoVision 2022 will feature experts from Canada, US and China to discuss everything you want to know about the metaverse – its evolution, latest developments, impact on industries, society, work and life, the future of business and financial activities, and the influence of different realities on human interaction and personal well-being.

The InnoVision summit is CPAC’s annual innovation themed public event aimed at highlighting the newest advancements in science and technology that will revolutionize our lives. Its aim is to inform professionals, businesspeople, academics, students, tech enthusiasts and other individuals who are interested in exploring and learning about emerging trends, so that they can be inspired, envision possibilities, and make informed decisions about their career, business and life.

InnoVision 2022 will consist of the following four sessions:

  1. Metaverse: The Convergence of Technologies: From the first computer to AI, VR, blockchain and modern computation, information technologies are converging in the Metaverse to make dreams realities and communication possible across spaces, times, and languages.
  2. Why the Metaverse Matters: What does the future hold for us in terms of work, life and society in the metaverse era? How will the metaverse impact healthcare, education, agriculture, manufacturing … and dozens of other industries? And how will travel, shopping, entertainment, communication and social interaction look like? The metaverse is changing many aspects of human activity and creating a new world of unprecedented convenience, mixed realities and infinite possibilities.
  3. Virtual Property, Digital Currency and the Future of Banking: Cryptocurrency, NFT, Decentraland, The Sandbox … these are just the beginning. DeFi, Web3, cross-industry platforms and ecosystem business models will revolutionize the future of business and financial transactions and create a digital economy in the metaverse.
  4. The Human Side of the Metaverse: As digital technologies and social media converge in the metaverse, questions arise about the impact of this brave new virtual world on human well-being and mental health. What are the benefits and the challenges that await us? Will we be better off or struggle to balance our real and virtual lives? Our experience and knowledge gained over the past two decades can serve as a guide.
