CPAC Anti-Racism Webinar Series: Racism, Hate Crime, and Personal & Property Safety

In response to the recent rise of ani-Asian racism during the Covid-19 pandemic and to help Asian Canadians to better deal with racist behaviours, CPAC will host a series of FREE webinars in English and Chinese from September to November. The topics include: Overview of Racism, Discrimination and Human Rights; How to Respond to Racist Harassment and Attack; Bystander Intervention; Dealing with Racist Harassment, Attacks and Bullying in School; and Racism, Hate Crime and Personal and Property Safety.

 

The first of the series, Racism, Hate Crime and Personal and Property Safety, will be presented in Chinese on September 16, 2020 from 8pm to 9pm ET, by Const. David Huang, Chinese Liaison Officer of the Toronto Police Service. The contents will include:

– What is hate crime?

– Difference between hate crimes and hate incidents

– What should you do with hate crime and hate incidents?

– How do you protect your personal safety on the street?

– What can you do to prevent break and enter to your house?
