2)      Web Application Developer / Systems Analyst

Currently, Cido Research is looking for a Web Application Developer/Systems Analyst.

This position comes with a six month contract term, with the opportunity for full time employment or contract extension upon completion.

This position reports to the Vice President, Information Technology.

The Web Application Developer / Systems Analyst position requires strong business and programming skills and would be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, developing and modifying systems including programming, testing, debugging and installing.

The incumbent will consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.

The position requires at least 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. You must have a working knowledge of relational databases, web and client-server concepts, and be able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing applications.
  • Make recommendations on existing custom web applications which include Microsoft SQL databases and a mix of ASP, .NET, Perl, and Javascript technologies.
  • Develop new web applications and add new functionality to existing web applications.
  • Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes.
  • Coordinate application development for multiple projects.
  • Provide SQL administration in live and test environments.
  • Verify database and data integrity.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to discuss progress and issues to be resolved, and report progress on all development initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects.
  • Assist in the management and administration of Microsoft and Linux based servers, Cisco routers, firewalls.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Should have a minimum of 3 years of technology experience with hands-on development roles in the field and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
  • Technical experience with systems networking, security, databases, Web development, and user support.
  • Strong background in Database design in Microsoft SQL.
  • Strong background in Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, classic ASP programming.
  • Working knowledge of Javascript, CSS, HTML.
  • Working knowledge of security, firewalls, Cisco routers is an asset.
  • Experience in Perl is an asset.
  • Strong project management skills with effective results focus within an information systems environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities;
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in an environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Post secondary degree in computer science or related field or a combination of related experience and education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

×           Coordinate and support the onsite staff to ensure efficient operation of buildings

×           Present financial statements and prepare variance reports

×           Emergency on call after hours service and evening meeting commitments

×           Maintain good relations with clients and contractors

×           Prepare and submit management report to the Board of Directors

×           Prepare and distribute meeting notices

×           Serve as a liaison between the board of directors, legal counsel and all owners

×           Respond to resident/owner inquiries

×           Conduct periodic property inspections for risk management purposes, obvious maintenance problems and violations of governing documents

×           Provide maintenance recommendations to the board

×           Receive, clarify and respond to maintenance requests from owners

×           Manage work order systems by developing and implementing on an ongoing basis

×           Negotiate contracts

×           follow up on accounts receivables

×           Provide feedback to the board and Regional Director on contractor performance

×           Other special projects and duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

×          Condominium start-up experience an asset, including Performance Audit tracking and Reserve Fund Study Review

×          English/Cantonese or English/Mandarin

×          Proficient with service contract review and modifications

×          Familiar with government regulations including condo act, municipal and city by laws

×          Minimum of 2 years condominium property management  experience

×          RCM designation is an asset

×          Positive attitude and approach to management

×          Proactive problem recognition

×          Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel

×          Must possess good organizational skills as well as good oral and written communication skills
