CPAC Annual Fundraising Gala to be held on January 25, 2015

January 14, TORONTO – The Chinese Professionals Association of Canada (CPAC) and the Education Foundation of Chinese Professionals Association of Canada (CPAC-EF) announced at the press conference today that they will be holding the CPAC Annual Gala on January 25th, 2015, at Sheraton Parkway North Toronto in Richmond Hill.

The CPAC Annual Gala is a fundraising event co-hosted by CPAC and its Education Foundation for the charitable work in three areas: Helping internationally trained individuals who are new to Canada obtain licenses, find jobs and integrate into society; promoting education and providing scholarships and bursaries to students who have demonstrated social responsibility as well as academic excellence; cultivating leadership among immigrant professionals.

It is a premier event in the community with over 500 guests and donors in attendance every year. “This is one of the largest annual events in GTA for the Chinese community, where CPAC members and supporters celebrate the successes of CPAC in 2014,” said Mr. Richard Lim, President of Education Foundation of CPAC.

The highlight of the gala will be the presentation of the Professional Achievement Awards, which recognize the achievements of outstanding immigrant individuals who have overcome various barriers and made incredible strides in their professional careers. This year’s winners include three very accomplished immigrants in the fields of arts, management and science. They are Ms. Chan Hon Goh, Principal Dancer, International Guest Artist, Entrepreneur and Author; Mr. David Kuo, Head of Branch Network – Ontario, HSBC; Dr. Vincent Chan, MD, FRCPC, FRCA, Professor of the Department of Anesthesia, University of Toronto. “These winners will serve as role models in the community as well as in their respective industries,” said Mr. Lim. “Please join us at the gala to listen to their success stories.”

The CPAC Annual Gala is also an excellent networking event as the event which typically hosts many community, business and political leaders. Dr. Joe Ng, a renowned Chinese-Canadian entrepreneur & philanthropist, founder and chair of the JNE Group of Companies, who joined the Education Foundation of CPAC as patron recently, will also be introduced to the community at the Gala.

The silent auction of this year’s gala will feature air tickets, hotel voucher, a signed basket ball by Toronto Raptors, and gift cards.

As always, there will be excellent live performances. For this year, three artists will form a jazz trio to present elegant performances.

CPAC and its Education Foundation thank all the donors and sponsors of this fundraising event, particularly gold sponsors RBC Royal Bank of Canada and Henry Global Consulting Group, BMO Bank of Montreal and silver sponsor Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories.

Please support Education Foundation of CPAC by purchasing tickets to attend the Gala or donate items for the silent auction. Tickets are now available at CPAC office. Please call (416) 298-7885 ext. 101 to inquire.
