CPAC Children Drawing Contest 2012 will be held on this Saturday at First Markham Place

The 8th annual Children Drawing Contest, co-organized by the Education Foundation of Chinese Professionals Association of Canada (CPAC) and the Chinese Canadian Times, is currently open to registration. The event will be held from 2:00pm – 5:00pm on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the First Markham Place (3255 Highway 7 East Markham, Ontario L3R 3P9. This year’s contest is partly funded by Canadian Heritage and it will be one of the 2012 Diamond Jubilee series events, which celebrate the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

This is the 8th time that CPAC and Chinese Canadian Times have organized this event, which has become an opportunity for children and teenagers in the Chinese community to display their artistic talent on a grand stage. Through this event, we seek to promote enjoyment and participation: the contest is open to all children within the age limit free of charge; the topics are suitable for children, and no restrictions will be placed on drawing style in order to encourage creativity. The contest also places an emphasis on independence and fairness: all participants must bring their own painting tools and complete their work independently without any guidance and instruction from by-standers; topics shall be given during the event, drawings must be completed within the time limit, and awards shall be given immediately after.

This year, we have made some adjustments regarding groups and awards. Details can be found below:
