February 22nd, 2016, Toronto, ON – The CPAC Foundation is pleased to announce that after careful review and deliberations, the Foundation’s Award Selection Committee has selected five winners for the CPAC Foundation Awards and Scholarships of 2015. A Scholarship Award Ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm on March 5, 2016 at the North York Civic Centre Council Chamber. As in previous years, the ceremony is open to the public and the Foundation encourages students and parents in the community to attend and share in the award winners’ inspiring stories.

“This year, we received applications from over sixty brilliant students from across the country.   The Selection Committee had a difficult task, but ultimately decided to award five individuals based on their combined academic excellence and community involvement,” remarked Richard Lim, President of CPAC Foundation.  “CPAC Foundation has given out over 200 monetary awards worth $235,000 in the past fifteen years.  We would like to thank all of our sponsors and donors for their generous and continued support that has allowed us to fulfill our commitment in this regard. We would especially like to thank CPA Ontario, the diamond sponsor of the 2015 CPAC Foundation Scholarship Award Ceremony,” said President Lim.

There will be a total of five awards and scholarships in three categories presented at the ceremony.  The CPAC-CPA Award and the CPAC-Investors Group Award are given to outstanding high school students and are each worth $1000. The CPAC-TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Scholarship is given to an accomplished post-secondary student, and the CPAC-Tianbao Education Scholarship and the CPAC-Queen Financial Group Education Scholarship are both given to excellent post-secondary students in need of financial assistance and are each worth $3000.
