CPAC Hosts Professionals Day 2015 – Day to include Encounter Job Fair

September 1st, TORONTO –The 14th CPAC Professionals Day and Job Fair will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2015 at Armenian Youth Centre, announced Mr. Andi Shi, Executive Director of CPAC, at a news conference today.

The free event will present an exciting lineup of speakers, employers and service providers designed to assist internationally trained professionals in their search for successful careers in Canada. The one-day event features a success panel and eight breakout sessions on various career related topics ranging from honing interview skills to managing conflicts in the workplace. With CPAC combining the Professionals Day with their young professionals division (Enlight)’s Encounter Career Development Conference this year, the event will have a selection of workshops for both young and seasoned professionals.

The traditional keynote presentation will be delivered in a new format. Instead of one keynote speaker, a panel of three accomplished professionals from the information and communications technology (ICT), engineering and accounting fields, three of the most popular professions among new immigrants, will share their inspiring success stories with the audience.

In addition, about 50 employers and service providers will participate in the Job Fair/Marketplace, highlighting a vast range of employment opportunities as well as promoting their programs and services. Companies like TD Bank Group, BMO and Air Canada have confirmed their attendance.

“Professionals Day has been one of our successes in helping immigrant professionals integrate into the community and become contributing members. This is an event where participants will be inspired, get the latest information on the job market, upgrade their professional skills as well as connect with employers, industry experts and peers,” said Dr. Longhuan Kim, senior member of the board and one of CPAC’s original founding members.

CPAC is grateful for the corporate world’s support, especially to the Diamond Sponsor, CPA Ontario and Gold Sponsor, TD Bank Group. “As a proud diamond sponsor of CPAC’s annual Professionals Day, we recognize the challenges internationally trained professionals face when transitioning to Canada,” said Carmen Jacques, student recruitment manager, CPA Ontario. “It’s essential that newcomers have access to programs that assist them in transitioning their lives and careers – we believe in the importance of working together to provide the essential stepping stones that drive success.”

Professionals Day 2015 is open to the public. Admission is free. Online registration is available at http://cpac2015pday.eventbrite.com/ Registrants can redeem their confirmation for lunch at the event.
