Research Assistant (3 positions) – Canada Summer Jobs

Job Description:

CPAC Institute is hiring three summer students to assist in an educational research project.  

Education:

  • Graduate degree (completed or in progress) in education, sociology, or related social science fields.

Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting qualitative research
  • Experience conducting literature review and interviews
  • Experience in analyzing interview data
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Canva, or data visualization platforms
  • Proficiency in designing tables and figures for academic reports is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Mandarin or Cantonese language skills are considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature surveys on topics related to the research project
  • Assist with focus-group and individual interview participant recruitment and scheduling
  • Assist with the facilitation of focus group interviews
  • Assist with interview data analysis
  • Assist with report writing
  • Create visual summaries or infographics to communicate key findings
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Employment Detail:

  • Temporary, full-time (8-week contract)
  • Number of hours per week requested: 35
  • Hourly wage: $17.5
  • Hybrid and remote work options available; however, the position will require occasional in-person work in Toronto or York Region during on-site focus group interviews.

Eligibility:

To be eligible, the applicant must be:

  • between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

*International students are not eligible.
