How to Plan Your Careers before and after You Graduate? Get Some Tips at May 31’s CPAC Professionals Day and Job Fair

CPAC Professionals Day 2014, a career development conference and job fair for immigrant professionals in the GTA, will be held on May 31 at Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel. Free Admission by registration online at http://cpac2014pday.eventbrite.com. Registrants can redeem their confirmation for lunch at the event. Moreover, bringing along your Permanent Resident Card, new immigrants who are 18+ and arrived in Canada in or after September 2011 are eligible to collect a WelcomePack gift box filled with gifts, products and offers from over 40 Canadian brands at CPAC booth on the site.

Continuing the decade-long success of this event, the 13th CPAC Professionals Day will bring a new lineup of speakers, employers and service providers and will be held in an upscale facility to match the profile of this event. The one-day event features a keynote speaker and 10 breakout sessions on various career related topics. Close to 50 employers and service providers from various sectors and industries will participate in the Job Fair/Marketplace, bringing in a wide range of employment opportunities or promoting their programs and services to the participants.

How to Plan Your Careers before and after You Graduate

Amelia Ng, Amelia Zheng & Angelo Visconti

Young immigrant professionals have challenges of their own when it comes starting a career in Canada. When to start planning, what options are available and how to choose a career are the questions they are eagerly seeking answers to. In this session, you will learn about career options for youth, job search strategies, and resources available for young professionals.

Amelia Ng is currently a core member of the Association of Career Educators. With 14 years of experience serving on Parents Advisory Council, she speaks frequently on career development to youth and young immigrants.

Angelo Visconti is an experienced employment counsellor and career coach.  He has worked for over six years as an employment counsellor and a youth employment counsellor.

Amelia Zheng is a role model for immigrant youth. After graduation with her master’s degree in law, Amelia leveraged her communication and marketing skills to land an ideal job for her in Toronto.
