CPAC is seeking for Mentorship Employment Counsellor

Job Summary:

Reporting to the program manager, the employment counsellor is responsible for delivering CPAC’s mentorship program and providing employment services to program participants. Working with the program team, the incumbent will act as the coordinator of all aspects of the program, including planning, promotion, service delivery and reporting. The individual is also expected to coordinate or assist in career development related conferences, job fairs and other events and contribute to various initiatives and projects. This is a contract position for a year, with opportunity to become permanent after the contracted term.

Responsibilities:
• Promote CPAC mentorship program and recruit participants
• Outreach and recruit qualified mentors
• Plan and organize orientation/ training sessions for mentors
• Plan and deliver job search and employment skills workshops
• Provide one-on-one counselling to participants
• Match mentor and mentee based on interests and needs
• Follow up with mentor/mentee and provide on-going support
• Develop employment and placement opportunities for participants
• Conduct program evaluation and prepare program reports
• Provide support for professional development and networking activities/events
• Organize or assist in career, membership and community service programs and activities
• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in career/employment counseling or equivalent
• Experience with mentorship programs
• Expertise in résumé and cover letter writing, interview skills and job search strategies
• Experience in presenting job search skills workshops to groups
• Experience and proven ability to develop good employer relations and job opportunities
• Knowledge of labour market trend
• Superior oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse clients including new graduates and newcomers
• Excellent time management and organization skills, able to work well with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in online research and MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
