About the Team
The Diversity Institute (DI) conducts and coordinates multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder research to address the needs of diverse Canadians, the changing nature of skills and competencies, and the policies, processes and tools that advance economic inclusion and success. DI’s action-oriented, evidence-based approach is advancing knowledge of the complex barriers faced by underrepresented groups, leading practices to effect change, and producing concrete results. The opportunity
The Diversity Institute is currently recruiting a Research Assistant who will provide professional assistance to the Diversity Institute’s Consulting Team. Successful candidates will support the design, methodology and execution of academic and customized research on EDI-related Change Management Projects for a diverse range of client organizations. Successful candidates will join the broader DI team and will work specifically with the DI consulting team of about 10 people working on client projects: developing EDI strategies and action plans, supporting community engagement, developing client training, submitting proposals, and more.
Qualifications
The Research Assistant’s role will include the following components.
Required competencies:
- Research and writing management and support, including developing literature reviews, summary reports, action plans, fact-finding and fact-checking
- Taking meeting notes, interview and focus group notes, and summarizing findings
- Developing surveys and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data from surveys, interviews, focus groups, and public data and preparing findings and graphs
- Presentation development including preparing presentation content, slide decks, and notes
- Supporting the development of strategies and action plans
- Supporting the development of consulting proposals including adding to our experiences and methodology
- Copy-editing content to ensure polished final products
Required skills:
- Organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Data analysis and strong writing skills
Non-required, additional skills and competencies:
- Design of PowerPoint content
- Usage of design tools including InDesign for reports
- Video-editing skills
