Strength in Unity seeking research participants
The SIU (Strength In Unity) Research Project is moving quickly into the next stage:
We are currently recruiting male Cantonese and Mandarin participants, age 17+ to come to our Info Session on May 21, 2015 or June 4, 2015. Our target recruitment population are boys and men who self-identify as Asian (East, Southeast, South Asian) age 17+ and:
1. self-identify as living with mental illness (diagnosis not required),
OR 2. have family, friends, volunteers with someone living with mental illness,
OR 3. a community member interested in addressing mental health stigma.
Event: Cantonese + Mandarin Information Session
Date: May 21, 2015 Thursday Time: 1:00 – 2:00pm
Location: Hong Fook North York Office, 1751 Sheppard Ave, East (Don Mills Station)
Honorarium: $10 Cash
Participant Time Commitment: Possibility of being randomized into 4 training groups of Group 1 for 1 session; Group 2 for 4 sessions; Group 3 for 4 sessions; Group 4 for 8 sessions.
Sessions held in July weekday evenings and weekends in North York Office. $55/session attend. 6 month follow-up (with 2 reunion meetings)
